According to Mao Jinhuang, the executive director of the Institute of County Economic Development of Lanzhou University, e-commerce for poverty alleviation has effectively narrowed the information gap between urban and rural areas, and enriched the impoverished masses. Whoever he or she is, the folk influencer, or the leading cadres, with adopting e-commerce, they have ensured that the interests of farmers are not affected, reduced the the transaction costs, and achieved the win-win situation between customers and farmers.
From the point of Mao Jinhuang, e-commerce for poverty alleviation is a new starting point to force the industry to improve quality and efficiency, and a new engine for economic structure adjustment. Mao also has recommended that industrial development should be dominated by the concepts of green, environmental protection and health, rather than sell depending on what there is. What’s more, the quality must be guaranteed to promote the deep processing of agricultural products, so as to establish a brand excelling in both internal and external aspects; Besides, the development mode of small but refined is worth pursuing to avoid seeking a huge market share.
“Related department should establish and improve logistics service system, and ensure the e-commerce products can be sold and go far,’’ said Mao, “we should also coordinate and integrate county and rural logistics resources’ distribution; we should build a scientific and complete logistics service system within the county; we should encourage and support express companies to set up locations in rural areas through freight allowance; we should set up warehousing and other infrastructure, and promote the scale of online sales of agricultural specialty products. ”
Proposals have been put forth by Mao Jinhuang and other interviewees that it is
advisable to promote the construction of e-commerce talent training projects, prepare for the talent support, and guide and encourage the social organizations, e-commerce incubation and e-commerce universities to establish assistance relationships with poor villages, and strengthen the transmission and training of e-commerce talents.
