To learn more about President Xi’s speech during his recent visit in Gansu Province and the spirit of his reply to agricultural colleges, Forum on Gansu High-quality Development was held in Lanzhou University on Sep 25th, aiming to find new concepts and approaches to high-quality development of Gansu Province. Wu Guosheng, dean of Institute of County Economic Development and Institute of Rural Revitalization Strategy, deputy executive Party secretary of Lanzhou University, hosted the opening ceremony. Li Peixing, vice governor of Gansu Province, Yuan Zhanting, Party secretary of Lanzhou University presented and addressed at the ceremony.

This forum was sponsored by Gansu Provincial Office of Finance and Economics and Lanzhou University and undertaken by Institute of County Economic Development and Institute of Rural Revitalization Strategy, School of Economics and Institute of Regional Finance of Gansu Provincial Association of Finance. More than 260 representatives participated the forum from provincial departments, colleges and scientific institutions, non-governmental associations and etc.

Li Peixing stated, President Xi paid high attention to Gansu Province and gave special support and concern to the development of Gansu Province. To gather intelligent resources of inner and outer Gansu Province and learn more about President Xi’s important speech, we need to grasp the central idea and implement it into our work of poverty alleviation, environmental protection, improvement of people’s livelihood and social stability and harmony. For laying solid foundation of high-quality development and better serving the economic and social development in the whole, we should make our due contribution to promoting all-round undertaking to a stable and healthy momentum, speed up the construction of a happy New Gansu and break new ground for a prosperous Gansu province with well-off people.

Yuan Zhanting extended warm welcome to all the representatives. The University will play a more active role of academic and intelligent advantages in supporting Gansu Province in the high-quality development with special and profound connotation. After the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Qi, dean of the Academy of the China Poverty Alleviation of Beijing Normal University, made a keynote speech on the title of Thoughts on Effective Convergence of Poverty Alleviation and Rural Revitalization; Yang Fanxin, Researcher of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University, made a keynote speech on the title of the Contribution of Gansu to Promote the Construction of “One Belt, One Road”; Professor Zheng Binglin, dean of the Academy of Dunhuang Studies of Lanzhou University, made a keynote speech on the title of Developing Resource of History and Culture to Study the Source of the Silk Road; deputy mayor Li Yabin, member of Municipal Standing Committee of Baiyin City, made a keynote speech on the title of Promote the Protection of Yellow River Valley and the High-quality Development---Taking Baiyn as Example; Professor Li Hanlin from Gansu Provincial Party School made a keynote on the title of China Industry Transformation and Upgrading and the Construction of Gansu Environmental System of Ten Industries.

Huang Kezhi, deputy director of Policy Research Office of Gansu Provincial Party Committee, deputy director of Gansu Provincial Office of Finance and Economics host the closing ceremony and expressed concluding remarks.
